Online Hawaii State Assessment (HSA)
Hawaii State Assessment
Mililani 'Ike students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will begin taking their Hawaii State Assessment next week. Parents can help their child by:
*Avoid scheduling appointments or other events that will conflict with the testing schedule.
*Encouraging your child to do their best. Emphasize taking the test seriously and putting forth their best effort.
*Make sure that your child is well rested. Go to bed early and get a good night's sleep.
*Wake your child up early enough to get ready for school without having to rush. Rushing in the morning adds stress to both you and your children. Please make sure your child is in school on time - especially on the days that their class is taking the HSA.
*Have your child eat a good breakfast. Hunger can affect your child's academic performance.
*Visit www.alohahsap.org to allow your child to practice taking a sample test.

Please save your HI-5 beverage containers for our Recycling Drive on January 31, 2014! In addition to encouraging recycling, the purpose of this activity is to raise funds to enhance our school's technology program. A memo with more details has been sent home to all families and a reminder will be sent home before collection day.
Second Quarter Assembly
On Friday, December 19th we had our second 'Ike Pride Assembly of the school year. In addition to honoring our 'Ike Pride recipients, three adult volunteers were presented with our Pueo Pride Award. Mrs. Sharyl Ohta, Mr. Jeff Grimes and Mr. Lance Rose were nominated for this award for excellence in exhibiting our Six Pillars and their countless hours of service to our school. Thank you to all of our adult volunteers who support our school's students and staff!
