Aloha Parents/Guardians:
We regret to inform you that our school was not selected for
the Stop Flu at School Program for the 2018-2019 school year. Due to financial and staffing constraints,
the Department of Health (DOH) is not able to offer free vaccines to all public
and private schools. Only some schools
with the greatest needs were selected.
Although the Department of Health is not able to offer our
school free vaccines, we highly encourage your child to still be vaccinated for
the flu by your healthcare provider. Most
health insurance plans cover the cost of recommended vaccines. Please check with your insurance provider for
details of coverage.
In addition to vaccination for everyone ages 6 months and
older, Department of Health recommends other flu prevention strategies, which
includes staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands
frequently.
