Mililani 'Ike is in need of an adult supervisor in our cafeteria.  Adult supervisors supervise students during their lunch periods and 2nd recesses.  If you or anyone you know might be interested in this position please call Ian Tanita at 626-2980 for more information.

Meheula will be resurfaced starting this week

Grace Pacific will begin resurfacing work beginning at Kapanoe on Monday, August 25, working down past the school.  Parents please talk to your child(ren) to be extra careful when crossing Meheula and to be aware of the big equipment and trucks in the area.  Please also be aware that there may be some traffic delays as the resurfacing is occurring.  Your attention to this is very much appreciated.

Name Plates for Afterschool Pick-Up

August 22, 2014

Dear ‘Ike Parent(s),

Thank you very much for your patience with our new afterschool pick-up procedures.  We’ve heard many positive responses about providing students a safer procedure when being picked-up afterschool.

To help improve pick up time, we provided a nameplate to be placed on your dashboard so that the school staff member stationed by the driveway entry can notify other school staff members stationed at the pick-up point to alert the students of their ride.  If another member of your family is picking up your child, please have them simply use an 8 ½ x 11 paper and write using big lettering the child’s last name on the paper.  Nameplates were given to students who get picked up afterschool.

We ask, however, that if you do not see your child by the time you reach the pick-up point, that you keep circling around within the parking lot to pick up your child.

Mahalo again for your continued support!

Hi 'Ike Parents,

Our music teacher, Mrs. Fagaragan, will be having an informational meeting for students (Grades 3, 4 and 5) who are interested in the 'Ike Music Ensemble Program.  If your child is interested in taking part in orchestra or choir, a meeting will be held in the music room on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 2:10 to 2:45 pm.  At the meeting, your child will be given an application packet and the ensemble and audition requirements.

Students who attend A+ afterschool will need to check in with their leaders first.  If your child does not attend A+, they must go to the office and wait for their ride.

Pillars of Character

Welcome back students and parents of Mililani 'Ike!

Mililani 'Ike is considered a Character Counts school that follows the 6 Pillars of Character: Trust, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.  With our teachers demonstrating and modeling the character traits to the students, our goal is to have the traits instilled in our students.  Please support our school initiative by also discussing the pillars at home and discussing them with your child. You can print out a Character Counts Poster to put up on your refrigerator or in your child's room.

Thank you.
