School Bottle Cap Challenge

Mililani 'Ike is participating in the Hawaii School Bottle Cap Collection Challenge presented by the Kokua Hawaii Foundation.  The objective for each registered school is to collect the most plastic bottle caps.  This challenge also serves as an environmentally friendly recycling project.  The more caps we collect and turn in for this contest, the less plastic waste we have littering our land and waterways and piling up in our landfills.
Our collection window is from February 1 - March 31, 2014.    The winning school will receive a special performance by Jack Johnson.
Acceptable caps:  Shampoo, beverage, milk jug, detergent, flip tops, pharmaceuticals
Not acceptable caps:  margarine, yogurt, lotion pump, spray pump, metal cap
Please start collecting your plastic caps for Mililani 'Ike!  Mahalo!.

Going Home After School

As we continue to provide a safe environment (preventing unnecessary injuries) for our students, please make sure that your children do not loiter around campus after school hours.  There is no adult supervision on our campus after school hours so we are encouraging students and parents to make their way home to prevent any accidents or injuries.

Partnership with HPD

Hello Parents,
We have just been adopted by the Wahiawa Community Police Unit.  They will be helping Mililani 'Ike Elementary School with our Parent Watch Group.  The Parent Watch Group is reliant on parent volunteers.  Please try and volunteer for an hour or so if you can to support this program.  If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information please contact our PCNC at our school.

Doodle 4 Google Contest (Gr. K - 5)

Google kicked off it's annual "Doodle 4 Google" contest on Tuesday (2/4). Students in grades K through 12 can participate by drawing their own Google Doodle (like the ones on the Google Homepage).

The theme for this year is If I Could Invent One Thing to Make the World a Better Place...
We have a school contest webpage for students, parents, faculty, and staff to access for more information, resources, links, and the submission form.

Flyers and submission forms will be given to each student with the next few days.

Submission forms are due to classroom teachers by
March 13th.
