Purple Up - Month of the Military Child

PURPLE UP!
April 21, 2017

April marks the nation’s “Month of the Military Child,” a time to honor and celebrate military-connected children and youth. In celebration, Mililani ‘Ike is encouraging everyone to wear purple on Friday, April 21 as a visible way to show support and recognize military children for their strength, sacrifices and continued resilience.

Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, a combination of Army green, Marine red, and Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy blue. Wearing purple is also a military expression that symbolizes loyalty to a joint service operation.

Join us in showing the rest of the nation how Hawaii’s communities support our young heroes.
