Stranger Danger Awareness

Aloha Mililani 'Ike Parents,

We are off to a terrific start to the new school year.  As we are three weeks into the new school year, we ask that you please review with your child the importance of "stranger danger" if they walk to and from school.  A community member reported seeing a child approached by a stranger in a black Dodge Charger in lower Mauka yesterday and drive away when the community member tried to investigate.  As good practice, please review with your child the following safety tips:

*Always walk with a partner or in a group
*Walk to school or to home (don't stop to talk story with friends)
*Never approach a stranger in a car or go with a stranger
*Always walk in a high-visibility area

We will also be discussing with all of our students about Stranger Danger Awareness in the cafeteria this week as they view a video about what to do when a stranger approaches them.

Thank you.
