Aloha 'Ike Families.
Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will be taking the Smarter Balanced Assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics between April 22 - April 30, 2019. Your child's teacher will inform you of the specific dates. In addition, students in grade 4 will take the Hawaii State Science Assessment on two separate dates: Wednesday, March 6 and Thursday, May 16, 2019.
The Department of Education strongly encourages all parents to have their children participate in these assessments so that we can better identify their academic strengths and needs. We are sending you these testing dates in advance and kindly ask that you avoid planning any trips or appointments during the scheduled testing blocks.
